This course is jointly developed by Hong Kong Education City and Tencent, which aims to help teachers develop a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and explore its practical applications in education. The course covers fundamental AI concepts, prompt design techniques, educational applications, AI safety and ethics, as well as the competencies that teachers and students need in the AI era.
Through case studies, hands-on demonstrations, and practical exercises, teachers will learn how to effectively use AI to support lesson planning, instructional material design, and learning assessment, while developing safe and responsible AI practices. Upon completion of the course, teachers will receive approximately 1 “Teacher Continuous Professional Development” hour while gaining the confidence to integrate AI into daily teaching, enhance teaching efficiency, and support students’ development of foundational AI literacy.

This module introduces the fundamental concepts, capabilities, and limitations of AI. Through practical examples and classroom demonstrations, teachers will learn how to use AI to generate teaching ideas while applying their professional judgment to adapt content for students' learning needs.

Through guided exercises and practical examples, teachers will apply simple frameworks, refine AI-generated content, and create a classroom-ready presentation.

This module focuses on the principles of safe and responsible AI use in education. Teachers will learn how to protect student data, select appropriate AI tools, and identify common risks, enabling them to use AI effectively and responsibly in their professional practice.

Teachers will learn strategies for guiding students in the effective use of AI while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, and will develop a personalised AI implementation plan.
