The “Professional Training Programme for Developing AI Literacy of School Leaders and Teachers” is a brand-new self-paced course specially designed for teachers across Hong Kong. Teachers simply need to sign in to their EdCity Teacher accounts and access the relevant self-learning platform to study conveniently at their own pace and enhance their AI literacy. The course is suitable for teachers of all subjects in primary and secondary schools. Welcome to join!
⭐ Course Highlights
Even if teachers have no technology-related background or have never previously encountered Artificial Intelligence, they can still learn AI literacy and practical application skills step by step through the course. The content is closely aligned with real teaching scenarios in Hong Kong primary and secondary schools. It emphasises a people-first approach, the ethical and responsible use of AI, and supports teachers in improving teaching effectiveness, promoting student learning, and building a healthy AI literacy culture within the school.

🟢 Level 1 Course Overview
Level 1 is tailored for beginners. It enables teachers to start from scratch in understanding the core concepts of AI, its common functions and limitations, and practical ways to apply AI tools in everyday teaching.
The learning focuses on hands-on classroom applications, including:
- creating teaching resources,
- designing interactive learning activities,
- conducting formative / progressive assessment, and
- supporting students' digital literacy alongside wellbeing and healthy learning habits.
Through prompt engineering and collaborative learning with peers, teachers will learn how to integrate AI meaningfully into classroom teaching—improving both learning and teaching outcomes.
The Level 1 course consists of 3 hours.

🟣 Level 2 Course Overview
Level 2 is designed for teachers who have completed Level 1 or who already have a basic understanding of AI. It takes learning further by exploring the systematic application of AI in schools, together with ethical governance.
Teachers will learn to:
- develop a school-based AI policy,
- design people-centred innovative teaching models,
- apply advanced multimedia tools, and
- use learning data and analytics to enhance teaching and assessment quality.
The course also emphasises how to use AI to support learning diversity, promote inclusive education, and build a sustainable AI literacy culture within the school.
The Level 2 course consists of 3 hours.

📝 Module Assessment
Each module includes an assessment to help teachers evaluate their understanding of the content covered.
Upon completing all modules of the two levels and the assessments, teachers will receive
6 "Teacher Continuous Professional Development" hours^ and electronic certificates
^ Teachers must report the "Teacher Continuing Professional Development" hours recorded in the Go eLearning system, together with the electronic certificates for both course levels, in order to receive the full 6 hours of continuing professional development credit.
