Effectively Using the STAR Platform
Gradually Reinforcing Student Self-directed Learning
STAR is an online learning, teaching and assessment (L-T-A) platform with nearly 70 000 assessment items covering the subjects of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics from Primary 1 to Secondary 3. With a view to enhancing learning and teaching effectiveness, catering for students’ learning diversity as well as strengthening Assessment for Learning and assessment literacy in an on-going manner, the coverage of the platform has been extended progressively from Basic Competencies to Full Curriculum of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics since October 2020. The newly-added “Student Self-selected Assessments” (Trial Version) since the end of March 2024 can further offer schools an additional effective and flexible L-T-A resource, as well as providing students with more opportunities for self-directed learning.
