Details of "Student Self-selected Assessments" (Trial Version) (December, 2024)

STAR platform's new and enhanced functions:

Newly launched section: "Student Self-selected Assessments"

Students can select relevant assessment tasks according to their own interests and learning targets:

  • Language subjects: Papers based on topics and divided into Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing tasks
  • Mathematics: Papers based on units organised by school level or key stage

Upon the completion of assessments, students can obtain instant assessment results on computer-marked questions to better understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Teachers can view students' results from the self-selected assessments so as to provide guidance and support. Additionally, teachers can give feedback to students' answers on open-ended questions.

Remark:
The corresponding paper review and report functions are similar to teacher's assignments, making it easy for students and teachers who are familiar with the STAR platform to adopt.
